A reader asks:
I walk on concrete 5 hour a day non stop, other than 1/2 hour lunch. My feet, legs get so painful i’m not able to do anything after work other than sit in a recliner for the rest of the day!. The pain often is still there 8 hours /or longer after I work! What is the most cushioned, best walking shoe? The shoe does have to be black or dark grey but doesn’t have to be solid color.
I do prefer the most cushion possible! I have tried new balance and skeechers elite, but i’m hoping to find even better so I will be able to move/walk,/enoy life instead of working 5 hour a day and not able to do anything for the entire rest of the day other than sitting in a recliner! I’m 62 but have always had this problem. I use to wear a brace as a child because of my severe overpronate problem. Thanks, Pat.
Hello Pat. Thank you for contacting us. Your best options are motion control shoes: New Balance MW928V2, New Balance MW812, Brooks Addiction Walker, VIONIC w/ Orthaheel Technology Walker, and Asics Gel-Foundation Walker 3 (or Gel-Foundation Workplace Walking Shoe). Although, it’s best to try the shoe on before buying. Unless you mix walking and running, choose only a walking shoe because it’s designed with the strike path of walking in mind. To prolong the life of cushioning material, you can use more than one pair of shoes (and use them alternately).
