Have a look at various questions from our readers regarding footwear.
42 year old female here. 5’4″. I guess 158 lbs??? I am a supinator with high arches. I also have a Tailor’s bunion (i.e. on the outside) of both feet. My feet are also wide.
I have recently been to a shoe shop where they have a device called FITZI that combines video and pressure mapping to test your feet. It came back that I was neutral to slightly underpronate and slightly high arches.
Originally I was diagnosed with plantars faciatis and attained basic orthotics. After a full ACL reconstruction and subsequent removal of hardware it became harder to walk propertly and had sacrum issues on the surgical side.
I’m currently rehabbing IT band Syndrome and hip pain (both on my right side). I just completed my first marathon, and while it was a success, I battled a lot of injuries along the way, and I know I could have had a better performance without the knee/hip issues.
I’m 5’3 male at about 170 lbs. intending on losing weight by getting back on a running routine. I broke a metatarsal on my left foot, stress fracture due to my weight and my underpronation (aka supination) which I have been told is moderate to extreme.
I currently run 1-5 miles a week for work and I was due for a shoe upgrade due to getting older and pain starting a little bit in my body. I ran in the Nike Free’s for a while and then the running store told me that I have over pronation so they sold me a pair of Asics Gel Kayano 21’s.
